Salary: £8.45 per hour

Early Monring Hours: Monday to Friday, 5.00 am to 8.00 am 

 

We require energetic and diligent Cleaners to work as part of a Housekeeping Team cleaning and maintaining the schools boarding houses and public areas. The role holder is required to provide a high standard of cleaning, while observing C.O.S.H.H Regulations.

The Post  

The  Cleaner is appointed by the Domestic Services Manager to deliver as part of a team a quality cleaning service for the School.

 

Accountability

The  Cleaner is accountable to the  Supervisor for the satisfactory performance of his/her duties on a day-to-day basis.

 

Hours and Conditions of Employment

 

The hours for this post are:​

  • Early Morning Cleaner :Monday to Friday; 5.00am to 8.00am, 15 hours per week throughout the year
  • In the case of emergency or staff shortage, flexible working hours may be deemed necessary.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • To maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the school on a daily basis by cleaning to the frequency and standard set out.
  • Ensure that cleaning standards are achieved and maintained as determined by Domestic Services Manager/ Cleaning Supervisor.
  • Ensuring the cleanliness and tidiness of the areas allocated and where classrooms are allocated, ensuring their readiness for teaching.
  • To undertake deep cleaning during holiday periods.
  • To report maintenance/repair requirements to the Supervisor.

 

Health and Safety at Work, and other legislative requirements:

 

  • To be aware of Health and Safety requirements as they relate to the College, as detailed in the Health and Safety at Work Policy Document.
  • To be aware of Fire Safety regulations as they relate to the College.
  • To be aware of other College Policy Documents as they relate to the Cleaner / Porter employment at the College.
  • Reporting to the supervisor any incident or accident.
  • The postholder has a responsibility for ensuring safety in the workplace and in this respect ensuring compliance with all instructions relating to the use and storage of materials/equipment necessary for the performance of his/her duties.
  • Carry out any other tasks that may be reasonably assigned to you.
